Osho

Born: December 11, 1931 – Kuchwada, Madhya Pradesh, India

Osho, born Rajneesh, was an Indian mystic and spiritual teacher best known for founding the Rajneesh movement and pioneering contemporary approaches to meditation and personal transformation. His teachings, presented in over 600 books transcribed from discourses, address topics such as enlightenment, love, and creativity, and have been translated into numerous languages worldwide.

Biography & Author's Journey

Osho, born Chandra Mohan Jain in 1931 in the small village of Kuchwada, Madhya Pradesh, India, emerged as one of the twentieth century’s most provocative and influential spiritual teachers. Raised in a large Jain family, Osho’s early environment was characterized by intellectual freedom and questioning, first nurtured by his maternal grandparents. He exhibited a rebellious and inquisitive nature from childhood, challenging traditional religious beliefs and social norms, a trait that would become central to his later teachings and public persona.
