When a former MI6 agent leaves isolation to save a life, an AI surveillance system finds him. Learn how his quiet Scottish exile became a deadly hunt.

The irony of Mason’s downfall is that it wasn't triggered by a mistake or a lapse in tradecraft; it was triggered by his humanity. He proved that even a man built for destruction can find a way to create something lasting.
T.H.E.A. stands for Total Human Engagement Analytics, a predatory AI surveillance system designed by MI6 to monitor digital footprints, facial scans, and behavior across the United Kingdom. The system targeted Mason after he was caught on a street camera while taking a sick girl, Jessie, to a medical clinic. To ensure Mason was eliminated, Director Steven Manafort manipulated the AI's code to misidentify him as Timur Tchermoev, a notorious terrorist, triggering a "kill on sight" order.
Black Kite was an elite, off-book MI6 operative program that officially did not exist. Its members were "precision instruments" tasked with high-stakes "wet-work" and missions that required no government oversight. Michael Mason was the program's top operative until ten years prior, when he chose to disappear after refusing an order to assassinate an Iranian nuclear scientist he had been assigned to protect.
Workman is a sociopathic mercenary and assassin who serves as a dark reflection of Michael Mason’s younger self. Like Mason, he was shaped by the Black Kite training program but lacks Mason’s developed conscience. He represents the "precision instrument" Mason used to be—a pure predator fueled by violence. Their conflict culminates in a brutal fight in a London nightclub, where Mason eventually kills him to sever his final tie to that dark legacy.
Mason realizes that Jessie can never be safe as long as she is with him, so he uses his leverage to secure her a new identity and safe passage to Spain. To ensure her permanent safety, he performs a final act of "housekeeping" by killing Steven Manafort in his penthouse. While Jessie begins a normal life in Ronda, Mason returns to a life in the shadows, acting as a silent guardian who watches over her from afar to ensure the surveillance state never catches up to her again.
