The Battle of Clontarf in 1014 was a massive conflict where his forces defeated a coalition of rebellious Irish kings and Viking reinforcements. Although Brian was killed in his tent at the end of the battle, the victory effectively ended large-scale Viking political ambitions in Ireland and turned Brian Boru into a national symbol of unity.
